Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences & Technology University of Ruhuna Sri lanka.

History

University of Ruhuna was established on 1st of September 1978.Its constitutes with seven faculties.Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences & Technology is newest faculty which was started in 09th of December 2006.
Department of Fisheries Biology of Faculty of Science was upgraded as a faculty.1980s a small unit for fisheries biology was started under Zoology Department of Faculty of Science.Profecer Ruchira Cumarathunga was first deen of faculty.

General Introduction

The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences & Technology is consist of three departments.

Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture
Department of Limnology
Department of Oceanography and Marine Geology

The Bachelar of Science (Fisheries and Marine Sciences BSc.) special four year degree is given to undergraduates. The undergraduate programme consists of 120 credits offered from three departments. There are 50 students were gained from each year based on their GCE (A\L) results.

  • '"Wasanthayaka Arunalu " Freshers welcome was held 29th of April 2009.
  • Study leave from 11.07.2009 to 26.07.2009
  • Examination will be held on from 27.07.2009
